Joining forces with Social Influencers really helps when it comes to getting your message in front of your target audience. If you attempt to do it all on your own it's logically going to turn into a disappointing exercise as you realise that it can take a long time to build up your community, especially if you don't have funds and you're doing everything yourself.
As we prepare for our Crowdfunding Campaign we want to make sure we take advantage of all of the tools and resources available for gathering solid data that will lead us straight to the top influencers on Twitter, and by interacting with them we will increase our chances of rapidly expanding our target audiences, the right target audiences.
So how do we find social influencers and how do we know who is influential on a certain subject? And how do we get in touch and convince them to support us?
Our first step will be to create an account at Audiense.com (It's going to cost us a few $$ per month but our success depends on this kind of data).
Audiense.com (previously Socialbro.com) is an amazing tool that will tell us exactly who is who on Twitter, who has the highest degree of influence AND which influencers are most active (they tweet frequently). From within your dashboard, you can choose to follow, add to lists and even send messages directly.
We can also search for influencers according to time zones, verified vs. non-verified users, country, gender .etc. You get the picture 🙂
So, now that we know where to go to look for influencers all we have to do is start to create our lists of Top 10 Influencers per category. Once we have gathered our choices of influencers we can then head over to Twitonomy.com and type in the Twitter handle of one of our chosen influencers and we will see very detailed information about their activity on Twitter including their stats. We can see how many of their tweets are retweeted, how many are favourited and so on, and we can see where they are, their websites, and of course, in addition to what we do on Twitter we could also pop over to LinkedIn and say hi ... and while we're at it look them up on Facebook, Instagram, and other channels.
We will also want to see who they are retweeting the most, who they are replying to, who are they mentioning. This means that we have a very clear picture of the active community of our chosen influencers so we also know who else we need to be engaging with. We can also easily identify the hashtags that they are using the most ... powerful or what?
So now we are clear about how to identify Social Influencers and all the really detailed information about their activities on Twitter using the tools mentioned above let's look at ways to actually get their attention and start a conversation. The best way to do this is by finding someone they know well to introduce you. Approaching Influencers directly is doable, but you will receive a much warmer welcome if someone they know introduces you.
